The La main à la pâte Foundation was created in October 2011 by the French Académie des sciences, along the Paris and Lyons Ecoles normales supérieures. Its main goal is to improve the quality of science and technology teachings, in both high and primary schools, focusing on the training of the teachers therein. Since the 1990's, the Foundation has managed the coordination of this project on an international scale, the conception of scientific and pedagogical tools for either teachers or pupils, the broadcasting of the various thematic projects throughout classes. Furthermore, it hosts a dedicated website and organises training sessions for pirmary school teachers and trainers.
